Nipika Mountain Resort Wedding

Christina and Tanner’s Nipika Mountain Resort Wedding

This Nipika Mountain Resort wedding stole our hearts. Christina and Tanner wanted a weekend wedding get away tucked in the middle of the Canadian Rocky mountains. They didn’t want a resort wedding with the typical buffet dinner. Nor did they want to host a formal gala in a ballroom. This couple wanted the serenity of the mountains without the fuss of a full blown wedding. They wanted the look and feel of an elopement but they wanted to host a celebration their friends and family would remember forever.

The Perfect Mountain Wedding Getaway

For the couple who doesn’t want to follow the typical wedding format, read on.

Christina and Tanner’s Nipika Mountain Resort wedding was the perfect getaway for their guests. Breaking from the more traditional wedding format, they opted to design the wedding of their dreams, not the weddings you see on Pinterest. Although, if you ask us, everything at this wedding was still swoon worthy. So, you be the judge. Christina and Tanner wanted a relaxed vibe without the traditional wedding pre-tense. They wanted campfires and s’mores instead of champagne and strawberries. They wanted their wedding to reflect an authentic Canadian mountain experience.

Best of all? Everyone came together in different ways to make this wedding happen. Christina’s grandmother handmade their wedding cake and lovingly decorated it the morning of the wedding. The bride’s family made their signature spaghetti sauce to serve on one of the dishes at the reception. A friend hand painted the signs on display at their reception. It was incredible to witness this group of people celebrate such an amazing couple. There wasn’t a dry eye during their beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the wild river waters below.

Why Nipika Mountain Resort Weddings Are Incredible

Nipika Mountain Resort is located just outside of Invermere, BC, in a semi-remote location nestled down a logging road in the Kootenays. Upon arriving at the venue you are treated to 360 degrees of mountain views that pretty much take your breath away. If you’re lucky, you’ll be greeted by the resident dogs and horses that roam freely throughout the property. The owners are lovely and will do whatever they can to ensure your stay is unforgettable. This experience is totally different from planning a wedding at the big resorts of Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise. Nipika Mountain Resort weddings are quaint, down to earth and more casual. If you are looking for a mountain get away but don’t want the cookie cutter experience you’ll get a a big hotel, this is your venue. We can’t recommend it enough.

Congratulations on your marriage you guys! From your Calgary wedding photographers xoxox
