Melissa and Andrew’s Blue Devil Golf Club Wedding
We’ve been meaning to try something a little different in our wedding blog posts lately. We have been reaching out to our brides and grooms and having them write a little bit about their wedding experience. Melissa and Andrew’s Blue Devil Golf Club wedding was truly spectacular. But, we wanted to hear from the couple directly about their favourite moments and have them share some wedding planning tips! Here goes nothing …
A few Wedding Planning Tips from The Bride and Groom:
I didn’t mind taking on some of the wedding planning myself but I knew I couldn’t do it all. We decided to hire Sonia from Enriched Events to help out. She was able to take our vision and turn it into reality. Additionally, she did all the set up at the venue so we didn’t have to worry about it and I have to say that was one of the best decisions we made.
We are both Catholic so having our ceremony in a church was important to us. Being married in a space that reflected our faith meant so much to us, so choosing the location for the ceremony was pretty easy. Finally, we chose Blue Devil Golf Club because the wedding space is just so gorgeous. The wedding ballroom has big windows that let in great light and I wanted that feel for the reception. Oh, and the food was spectacular!
Looking back on your wedding day, what is your favourite memory?
Hands down, our favourite part of the day was when we snuck away from dinner to enjoy sunset together. It was just ten minutes, but it was really special. It allowed us some down time to just be together, just the two of us. Those quiet moments were magical and the sunset was beautiful. We recommend sneaking away from your wedding reception for just a few moments. It was memorable for us and those photos are some of our favourite of the whole day. When you hire amazing Calgary wedding photographers, they’ll know the perfect time to pull you out for gorgeous photos.
What was it like working with us on your wedding day?
Andrew was worried that he wouldn’t feel comfortable with a photographer and it would be awkward. We’ve never had our photos done professionally. Choosing the right wedding photographer Calgary felt like a big deal. In the research I did before finding a photographer, I had read that you should choose someone that you would be able to go out for a beer with. After meeting you guys for the first time, we could see ourselves doing that so it was an easy decision.
Congratulations you guys, from your Calgary wedding photographers xoxo
