Relationships are all around us. Sometimes the little moments of love and happiness on a wedding day make the story. For Laura and Johnathan’s beautiful Calgary Lakehouse wedding, that’s what we were seeing all day long. There were happy hugs as people realize they are suddenly family. A few tears as they remembered a loved one looking down upon the wedding from heaven. A loving embrace between grandchildren and their grandma.
The people we love and who love us most are are biggest supporters. You can feel the warmth as the bride comes down the aisle. The adoration as everyone looks on during a first dance. Love is in the happy stories told over dinner, it’s in the laughter and the tears. It’s there when a father gives his daughter away and finally it’s in the couple’s eyes as they promise to spend the rest of their lives together.
Your wedding day is the first day of your marriage. We are huge proponents of making that first day exactly how you imagined it happening. For some couples that means jet setting off to a beach in the middle of the Pacific. We love that Marlena and Ryan chose a Maui elopement, it was perfect for them. Small. Intimate. Only the two of them, promising their forever. The ocean their witness and the sunset to give it’s blessing.
This wedding was incredibly intimate. Just these two, spending their wedding day together. From Ryan helping Marlena into her beautiful Stella York dress, to sunset photos with a pastel coloured sky. Their Maui elopement was what we all dream about when we think of our wedding day. The little moments that happened spoke of a lifetime of happiness that lay ahead. Just two souls pledging to spend the rest of life’s adventures together. We think, after all, that’s what its really all about.
Congratulations you guys, from the bottom of our hearts.

As always it is such a pleasure to document such special days in the lives of the couples we work with. Being able to capture these little moments means everything. The intimacy of it all is what makes what we do so special. When a friendship develops, it’s even better. Throughout the process of planning and photographing this Maui elopement, we kind of fell for these two. From witnessing their marriage, to shooting a day after session and hitting their favourite breakfast place. We knew these guys would be friends for life. Their wedding day will remain deep within our hearts for many years to come.
Mahalo and many thanks

It was the perfect winter day in the Canadian rocky mountains. The air was still. Snow fell softly onto the evergreens lining Lake Louise. A day, Jenn and Andy have been waiting for a long time. The day they would marry their best friend and partner since high school. As Jenn got ready in the morning, you could feel the excitement. Andy and his groomsmen passed the time nervously drinking scotch and learning to tie their bow ties. They even had their adorable French Bulldog, Bentley along for the occasion.
This Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise winter wedding went off without a hitch. From the quiet moments in the morning to closing down the dance floor. This wedding day was full of love and great moments with friends and family.
Congratulations you guys!
