Jessie and Matt’s Winter Kicking Horse Mountain Wedding
We always tell our couples that they should plan a wedding that makes them happy. There really are no rules. Make a list of a few things that are important to you and the rest shouldn’t matter. Seriously. If there was ever one day in your entire life that you could choose to do whatever you want, your wedding day is it.
Jessie and Matt really took this to heart. First of all, no matter the weather, they were determined to have their ceremony at the top of Kicking Horse mountain resort. Secondly, they wanted so badly to snowboard down to the reception. In full wedding attire. Ladies and gentlemen, if there was ever a perfect wedding, in our minds this was it.
Just a few photos from J&M’s Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Winter Wedding
The snow fell softly all morning, covering the evergreens in a blanket of white. There was a chill in the air but warmth in everyone’s hearts. Guests piled onto the Gondola at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort , making the 20 minute trek up into the clouds. Reaching the top, we dodged skiers and snowboarders headed down the mountain as we made our way to the ceremony site. Guests cozied up in chairs together, cupping a hot chocolate in one hand and their ski goggles in the other. They were ready for J&M’s Kicking Horse Mountain Resort winter wedding.
It truly was the perfect day to be married on top of a mountain. J&M planned the perfect way to celebrate their first day as husband and wife. A mountain top ceremony followed by apres ski burgers and beers with their nearest and dearest. They even strapped on their snowboards for a quick run down the slopes of Kicking Horse as husband and wife.
Tanis and Josh’s gorgeous Banff Rocky Mountain Resort Wedding
Tanis and Josh are adventurers – just like us. They have a fire in their soul for travel and new experiences. So, naturally, we felt a connection to them right away. Currently, they are teaching English in Macau, China and they’ve got a list of travel spots Andrew and I need to catch up on. Bali, the Philippeans, Thailand, Malaysia … the list goes on. We are seriously swooning just looking at some of their travel photos online.
As worldly as these two are, they couldn’t imagine a better place to be married than Banff Alberta. This little mountain town in the heart of the Canadian Rockies will always be home to them. Tanis grew up in the Rockies as a competitive ski racer. She couldn’t imagine planning a wedding without mountain top views and the wilderness. As luck would have it, nature pulled out all the stops on their wedding day. It rained most of the morning and things were looking a little touch and go. They were hoping for an outdoor ceremony at Tunnel Mountain reservoir and kept waiting to make a decision. They stuck to their guns and just as their ceremony began the skies cleared and an epic fog rolled in. The views were spectacular. You just can’t plan for anything better than that.
